I have been involved in Artificial Intelligence since the days of its precursor, machine learning. I remember being asked to present on “future trends” back in 2015. It was requested that I discuss something futuristic like “drones, virtual reality, or something else really interesting that will be big in the next five years”. I laughed and responded that these things were still toys and needed significant hardware to become popular. I suggested a conversation about how machine learning could be used in education to create learning tailored to the individual. This wasn’t deemed “interesting enough”.
I have thought of that conversation over the years, as those predictions of mine - while working with machine learning - have come to pass. Not only in formal learning environments, but even in situations where people are using options like ChatGPT to learn languages, programming and many other things!
Regarding Nocturnal Works - this site was bought way back in 2007, while I was offering consulting to global clients. I realised that a great deal of my work was being done while clients slept, so I bought this domain with the idea of changing the name of my business. Life got in the way, as it does, and I have held onto this site, knowing it was destined for great things!
I will spend the next months adding content to this site and considering the many opportunities in this area. AI is already in so many parts of our lives and is expanding with each day. Let’s explore what is ahead, together!
